While Heidi was with Tyler at UCSF, Scott and I went with Walt and Jacquie to Tilden Park where we rode the merry-go-round, the train, and fed the animals. You'll see all of those pictures on pics from the didge at the end of the month, but here's a little preview.

Heidi - Danny - Thanks for the update on Tyler's situation last night. Mom and I are thankful that he made it thru the night and are praying for a very much better day today..Love.. Dad...
BTW - Scott was very good last night and this morning - He had his pancake and of course his handful of rasberries... We have spagetti for tonight - left over from last night but it's good - even Heather & Jason stopped by to take some home yesterday.. :-)

Aunt Yvonne and our New Jersey family just sent a beautiful mass card for our family - how special!This pic says it all - Grandma and Grandpa love their 2 little boys so very, very much!!!

So a post from me, dad and mom. I have to laugh because we probably have all been doing the same thing all morning. I've been sitting here at work since 8:30am re-freshing the blog every 5 minutes waiting for an update. I think people must walk by my desk and think I'm crazy. I can just picture all 3 of us doing the same thing all morning.

Thanks for the update. So sorry that Tyler had a rough night last night. You two have been so brave to be by his side. Through it all you have exemplified grace, courage, faith and positivity. You are an example to so many...especially me.

On a lighter note, I just had to smile and laugh when reading Dad's message. The one thing in life you can always count on is Dad and his pancake breakfasts.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family. I'm proud to be a part of it.

We are so happy to hear Tyler is getting stronger. Sorry to hear that he had a rough night. Madison was looking at the blog with me and wanted to know who the picture was of that had all the tubes over him. I had to explain to her that this was baby Tyler and that he had a boo boo on his heart and had to have surgery. She replied to me that she was going to pray for him and that she can't wait to meet him and Scott when she goes to California. I thought that was really sweet. Please keep the updates coming I check the the updates hourly as well as the family.

Heidi and Danny, You and the boys are in our throughts and prayers. We were so sorry to hear that Tyler had such a difficult night. He looked so precious and peaceful on Sunday. Even with all those tubes and gadgets, he has an angelic little face. We enjoyed spending time with Scotty on Sunday. He is such a joyful child! We loved watching him dance to the drummers in Golden Gate Park! You two should be so proud of your parenting, even in such a difficult situation! You are a great example for all of us on how to face difficult timeswith grace. We are so blessed that Jason married into such a strong, supportive, loving family. Let us know how we can help out. My mom is in town from Utah. She spent the night at the hospital last night and has been holding Tyler quite a bit. He really enjoys being held, so he's less fussy and has responded well to the weaning of the oxygen. He's on regular air, but I guess it's still the high-flow to keep his lungs inflated. He's up to 9 cc's of food per hour, an improvement over yesterday's 2 cc's. The picture is of Betty and Bob Maddox (Heather's in-laws), Jacquie Lietz (Heidi's mom), Heather Maddox (Heidi's sister), and Walt Lietz, Heidi's dad. They did a 5K walk to raise money for the American Heart Association. Thanks to all who donated on behalf of Heather and Tyler!

Ok, should we just rename our blog the McMillan Pediatrics Medical Journal? Everyone has issues. Our family is congenital medical disorders. Tylers heart, Carls brain and Dannys Hips. Danny had hip discomfort growing up, visited the doc at 17 and was dismissed with "bad hips." He learned to make the best of his hips by monitoring his activity, walking slowly, making me wear hiking packs and taking breaks. After experiencing back pain this year he went to a doctor who took one look at his x-ray and sent him to orthopedics who sent him to a surgeon. We are blessed with a great friend who is amazing hip surgeon and chief of orthopedics AKA John Kronick who guided us in our decision. Our family is always taken care of in miraculous ways. Here are his hips: The Problem: acetabular (hip) dysplasia is a congenital disorder usually formed by age 3. His acetabular is more dish shaped instead of cup shaped.
