Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas for spring break, Tuesday-Sunday.  First we stayed at the Circus Circus.  That place is a dump but $50/night is pretty sweet.  Nice to have Kira as a secondary photographer.

I read The Hail Mary Project and The Martian, by Andy Weir.  They were both good but I really liked the former.  Ryan Gosling is the star of the movie and the book details a lot of problem solving with math and I just can't see Gosling doing that since he was Ken in the Barbie movie.  Britton said the movie was good, though.

For two nights we stayed at the Grandview Resort.  For $100/night it was pretty sweet since it had a separate bedroom and kitchenette, complete with oven, range and microwave.

The view from the Westgate.  We went to a timeshare presentation to get free breakfast and discounted Cirque du Soleil tickets.  Those guys are aggressive salesmen and don't take rejection easily.

The presentation had the energy of the NYSE floor.  Thank goodness for the earplugs.  Bacon was good though, yogurt was rotten.

Train watching at the Tehachapi Loop, an engineering marvel that allows trains to scale the steep hill and travel over themselves.

RC boat bash at Sunset Park.
