Kira's, Blake's, and Parker's birthday

Kira turned 16 on Friday.  She was happy about her "digicam," a Canon G11 point and shoot.

Parker turned 11 on Saturday.  He got a basketball hoop and electric scooter (other one got stolen).  Then his basketball team got smoked 60-24.  He didn't want to go to the 2nd game.

Blake turned 14 on Saturday.  He got some Ray Bans and swim stuff.  He was happy about his swims at JO's (Junior Olympics).  He did:

200 free, 1:55.70, 8th

100 back, 1:04.90, 23rd

50 free, 24.39, 11th

500 free, 5:16.02, 13th

200 free relay, 24.33 split,  1:35.66, 6th

200 medley relay, 29.86, back, 1:45.9, 7th

In the evening it was din din at the Cheesecake factory.  Fresh from freezer to the microwave to your table!  It was a nice night though and there were no meltdowns.  Happy birthday!

March haps

Scott gave his mission homecoming address on 3/8.  He did a nice job.  Grammy and Grampy came, along with Richard, Lindzer, Mara, Heather, Jason, and Roman.

Parker and Hanna have been doing track.  Hanna ran the 1600 in 7:16, a little slower than last time but at least there were no tears.  Parker likes the high jump.

Musical America

Kira really enjoys choir.  She's in madrigals, the equivalent of the Layton High Laytones.  Last night was their spring performance like unto the extravaganza except they had lots of costume changes.

Scott
Scott and Blake had a swim meet in San Ramon.  Scott had said while on his mission that within a week he would throw down a 49.99 100 free and he did a 49.24 so that's cool.  Blake swam the 100 free and 500 free.

He's home!

Scott returned on Thursday from his two year mission to Chile.

Kira didn't come because she's getting a D in math and couldn't afford to miss class.  Scott was most excited about driving IS300.  He said it's faster than he remembers.  He left for UT the very next day to meet Tyler.  Stupid Breeze airlines said their flight was delayed so Scott left later.  Then Breeze said it's actually 20 minutes early.  Scott showed up at exactly the right time and the gate was closed so we found him a different flight.  He spent the night at SFO and flew out to UT early this morning and took the train to Provo where he met Tyler at the MTC.

Northgate hosted de la Salle and Carondelet.  Kira did well, much better than last week.

Tyler leaves for his mission

Last night we invited the ward to our home for dessert and to send off Tyler.  Heidi gathered the people together for a photo in the bonus room.  My trusty 24-105 lens wasn't wide enough to capture this.  Steve Spero gave me a 17-40 lens but I quickly discovered that the autofocus didn't work.  I tried to manually focus it and this is the best we got:  an example of how a bad photo is better than no photo.

I put the 24-105 back on.  The sister missionaries are getting transferred out of Walnut Creek.

Heather and Jason have always been supportive of Tyler

This morning we dropped him off at the Oakland airport.  He flew to SLC and will do six weeks of training in the Provo MTC.

Go, Tyler!  See you in two years.

Chick- Fil-A

Hey.  A Chick-Fil-A opened in the Woodlands.  No drive thru!  We went to the soft opening and met the owner, a 36 year old woman.  The food came out fast and was hot and delicious.  Yay for Chick-Fil-A!

Saturday temple trip

Saturday was a trip to the Oakland Temple for endowment and sealings for some of Heidi's ancestors.  Then we did some fire pics for Tyler.

This is the most he's looked like Scott

New Years

We went to Carly's vacation rental in Eldorado Hills to bring in the new year.  Three of the five Bogner kids were there with their families.
