Picture day

 Hanna was real jazzed about picture day.  She wanted me to braid her hair so we did dual side French braids.  I'd struggled with them in the past but thought, "If Susan can do them, why can't I?"  This might be some of my best work.  

So stinking cute!  

Kira made BYU brownies.  REAL BUTTER!  Ha ha.  And a layer of minty frosting.  Okay, bye.  

A busy week

Hanna had her 8th birthday on Friday.  Tyler was leaving for BYU that morning so we celebrated Hanna on Thursday.  She got some nice gifts:  slime stuff, plushies, new bed sheets and comforter, a night light, and the Bronco TRX-4.  

Heidi, Tyler, Kira and Blake took GS400 to UT on Friday morning.  This is his off-to-BYU shoot.  He'll be living at Budge Hall in Helaman Halls with a meal plan.

Back to the grind

Kira, Blake, Parker and Hanna started public school this week.  They got father's blessings.  One of the main themes was decreasing screen time.  Kira started 10th at Northgate but will do some college classes through Horizons or Visions.

Blake is now interested in wearing nice, clean clothes, showering each day, using deodorant and brushing his teeth:  a big step up in hygiene.   He started 8th at Foothill.

Parker is in 5th at Valle Verde after a year of home school.  

Hanna started 3rd at Valle Verde with Mr. Mellinger, who she had last year and who Parker had in 3rd.  It's a combined 2nd/3rd class.  

County

 Parker and Hanna had county at Acalanes.  It wast not hot, thank goodness.  The kids don't swim as well in the cold though.  They had a good time with their friends.  Kira and I sang a duet for the national anthem.

Zone 2 summer championships

Blake had a great meet at Chabot College in Hayward.  He dropped time in all of his events.   Found it was easier to upload the meet mobile data than manually enter his tiems.  

 

WST at Dana Hills

Today was Woodlands at Dana Hills.  The kids did well.  

Hanna:  100 yard medley relay, 2nd, 1:17.48

25 yard breast:  2nd, 22.63

25 yard back:  1st, 20.92

25 yard fly:  20.61, 7th

100 free relay:  1:10.24, 2nd

Parker:  200 yard medley relay, 2:53.25, 3rd

50 yard free:  33.53, 3rd

50 yard back:  42.48, 5th

50 yard fly:  44.58, 6th

200 yard free relay: 2:29,18, 3rd

We brought the TRX-4s and the kids were having a lot of fun chasing them.

 I competed in the parent relay with Ryan S, Steven L. and some fast kid.  We got 1st.  Okay, bye.  

Woodlands Invitational 2025 part 1

This weekend is the 63rd annual Woodlands Invitational with first-time meet director Harry Ein.  The meet ran fast and smooth.  Kids swam well.  

Hanna:  25 yard free, 16.47, 8th

25 breast:  21.17, 4th

100 yard medley relay, back, 1:16.47, 3rd

Parker:  50 yard free, 33.34, 10th
