Parker, We love you so much!! The first 2-3 months were rough!  You were unhappy all the time.  I never had a colic baby, but you were that.  Never feeling good.  It was so sad not to be able to comfort you or make you feel better, but after that, you have been the best baby.  

You teach yourself how to do everything and it seems like you are beyond your age.  Your happiest day was learning to crawl.  Once you were mobile and able to keep up with your siblings and get to your destination, made your world so much happier.  You love being around your siblings and being out and about.  You go with the flow are generally content.  

You love your crib.  When you are tired and we put you in your crib with your blanket, you go right to bed.  You love your thumb.  You hate bottles.  Have yet to take one.  It took mom getting sick to sleep train you.  You used to get up several times every night and when you were 8 months, I got so sick and decided to let you cry through the night for 2 days.  After that, you slept from 8-5 every night.  

Your siblings love you and you love them!!  When you see them or your parents, you always give a huge smile.  Your laugh is this old man belly rumble.  It is so cute! They take good care of you! Love helping and love cuddling you even though you are always on the move to be cuddled.  

We are so grateful for you!!

It's so fun to read updates about all the kids! They all have such distinct personalities. I totally laughed about Blake saying "We have a situation here." So funny! Although I guess I shouldn't say that, unless I want to see the Hulk :-)

My mom is in town from Utah. She spent the night at the hospital last night and has been holding Tyler quite a bit. He really enjoys being held, so he's less fussy and has responded well to the weaning of the oxygen. He's on regular air, but I guess it's still the high-flow to keep his lungs inflated. He's up to 9 cc's of food per hour, an improvement over yesterday's 2 cc's. The picture is of Betty and Bob Maddox (Heather's in-laws), Jacquie Lietz (Heidi's mom), Heather Maddox (Heidi's sister), and Walt Lietz, Heidi's dad. They did a 5K walk to raise money for the American Heart Association. Thanks to all who donated on behalf of Heather and Tyler!

Periacetabular Osteotomy "Hip" Surgery

Ok, should we just rename our blog the McMillan Pediatrics Medical Journal? Everyone has issues. Our family is congenital medical disorders. Tylers heart, Carls brain and Dannys Hips. Danny had hip discomfort growing up, visited the doc at 17 and was dismissed with "bad hips." He learned to make the best of his hips by monitoring his activity, walking slowly, making me wear hiking packs and taking breaks. After experiencing back pain this year he went to a doctor who took one look at his x-ray and sent him to orthopedics who sent him to a surgeon. We are blessed with a great friend who is amazing hip surgeon and chief of orthopedics AKA John Kronick who guided us in our decision. Our family is always taken care of in miraculous ways. Here are his hips: The Problem: acetabular (hip) dysplasia is a congenital disorder usually formed by age 3. His acetabular is more dish shaped instead of cup shaped.
