Memorial day weekend

Image
The Sacramento county fair was on Saturday. The demolition derby was by far the best attraction (This is Danny posting). There were fires, radiator explosions, and three cement barricades were knocked over by heavy-duty impact. It was da bomb! I don't know how those drivers can wake up and go to work the next day because of all that whiplash, but they were there voluntarily and it was great entertainment for all of us. The boys had a good time. Enjoy pics from the didge, but you all need to experience a demolition derby at least once. Click on the pictures for full-resolution. Ask me about the sound effects sometime.

Have I ever mentioned that i think toddlers are the very best stage. They are full of energy, exploration and will always find a way to have a great time. I encourage all to find a way to be more like these 2 year old. Truly enjoying life!! Jumps Scott is really into flips these days. It is pretty funny.

Happy Birthday Betty

We had a great time at Il Fornaio celebrating Betty's Brithdays. Happy Birthday Betty!! Bob and Betty. It was a beautiful night to sit outside and enjoy the patio. Heather and Jason. We talked about how it felt like we were in Italy enjoying the beautiful patio scene. This picture makes me happy and relaxed for some reason. Scott enjoying his sparkly lemonade Scott ran around the plaza most of the night. He loves downtown Walnut Creek fountains and found two little girls to play ring around the rosie with. It was such a fun night

It's Summer Time in the WC...

Image
Summertime with the McMillans includes... lots of watermelon...my and possible Scott's favorite food! shirtless boys, occasional heat exhaustion and overall happiness!! Today when I was driving home the sign said 90* at 9PM. We are having a heat wave and I am loving it. I would much rather lounge with my children by the pool, have them run naked and be hot than be cold and have to stay indoors. It is a little too hot, but I will never complain about the season I look forward to all year. I do feel bad for Tyler who appears to be overheating at times. We will be making sure he stays as cool and comfortable as possible.

The Amazing Pearson Family

Image
I visit teach Carol Lynn Pearson, an amazing LDS author, who always has so much insight on loving and accepting everyone. I always feel inspired to be more open, loving and forgiving because of her. For those that don't know Carol Lynn, she is probably most famous for her autobiography, Goodbye, I Love You, which tells the story of her marriage to a homosexual man, their divorce, ongoing friendship, and her caring for him as he died of AIDS. Her new book, No More Goodbyes: Circling the Wagons around Our Gay Loved Ones examines the tragic and unnecessary goodbyes we continue to say around the issue of homosexuality, and also presents many inspiring stories of families finding new and positive ways to relate to their gay children. I am grateful for the time that I have to spend with Carol Lynn, her wisdom, friendship and insight. You can read more about her at http://www.clpearson.com/ . Her son drew this caricature of me and Tyler today. I think it is pretty amazing. He has a really
