Danny, Kira and I got to Oakland Kaiser at 6am, he was in the OR at 8. The surgery lasted 2 hours and the surgeon was really happy with how it went. The surgeon cut through his original incision, found the nerve and snipped it which sent it higher in the leg and away from scar tissue. The surgeon feels good about the surgery and so does Danny.
Danny was so funny after surgery and loving his drugs. Everyone was laughing with him in recovery and he came out of the hospital with a clown nose on after a visit for the clowns. Although he is in pain from the actual surgery, he says it is way better than the pain he was in from the nerve. Hopefully it stays that way!! Yeah for medicine and surgery. Sorry, no pics this time people. We are grateful for our surgeon, anesthesiologist and medical team!! They were all so friendly and did a great job.
The surgeon gave me strict instructions to not let Danny get in this much pain if this happens again. He thinks Danny is this super tough guy who doesn't take pain meds and likes pain. Maybe its from riding his bike to his second day of rehab after his PAO.

Wow, you guys have certainly had more than your share of hospital time. Thank heaven for modern medicine. I wish Danny a super speedy recovery!
Hello, I had no idea Danny was having hip surgery! I knew he needed to have the other side done, but I hadn't heard when you guys were thinking about doing it. Glad to know that things went well and that the nerve issue is hopefully resolved. Danny IS tough...and to be in pain is no fun. Happy helicopter flying!
Danny,
We had no idea you needed to have surgery. You've been through a lot of trials and you seem to handle them so well. Love ya,
Ha! Danny that is hilarious you rode your bike to your 2nd day of rehab! And I can just imagine the funny things you were saying in the recovery room. Well, hope your recovery goes well and you can be on that bike soon. Love ya.
I didn't read the post, but I'll assume our conversation about covered the surgery. Glad you're recovering and just glad that the leg isn't hurting so much! That would be awful to have constant pain when nothing is wrong. Yuck. Hope you heal quickly.
