Drivers Ed

Scott and Adri had plans to go to Marine World. We drove all the way to Benicia (ok, only about 30 minutes, but still) and it was closed. Apparently they close as soon as school starts on weekdays. Instead we went to Pixie Playland, rode the train, rollercoaster and helicopters and had a great time feeding and being attacked by ducks. Afterwards, Adri and Scott played in one of the BEST playdates ever. One of those playdates that the kids are quietly playing with toys in the room, nicely sharing and having a great time!! It was magical! Love those playdates.

Caldecott, Temple and Ice Cream

We are so lucky that the Oakland Temple is so close and has a visitors center. There was some traffic getting through the Caldecott Tunnel. It made me realize how spoiled I am that I can get to a temple in 25 minutes and complain when it takes 40. The boys always think we need to close our eyes through the tunnel. We love walking around the gardens, looking at the brides and going to the roof and visitors center. It is always a great time!! Afterwards the entire family went to ice cream which was fun until Tyler and Kira needed a nap.

Chalyce's wedding

Chalyce got married and looked beautiful. It was a beautiful night with friends and so much happiness. I love weddings! Scott took a picture with his primary teachers who he LOVES!! Sadly, Sister French got put in the presidency but Brother "French Fry" is still with him! YIPEE! In the bottom pic Scott and London are 1 month apart. I was college roommates with Jenny and we had a great time getting them together as newborns and an even better time watching them play as toddlers. Can there be a cuter little girl? Scott's favorite part of the night was dancing. He wanted to dance with London, dance with me and dance with is dad. London danced and Scott watched, followed by both of them watching other people dance, followed by them dancing together with some pretty funny moves. Good times.

Summer Days

I love this stage of life. Children who are not yet in school or a million activities. We have freedom to go and do what we want or don't want. I work around coaching, which isn't as bad as I sometimes feel.

Today was one of those days that I treasured being a mom. We got up, ate pancakes and hurried out the door to see "Chipmunks 2". We are always in a rush, which I need to work on. We shared two seats between the four of us which was kind of fun and cozy. The lady next to me probably didn't think so with me nursing, shooshing Tyler and finding room for another child on my lap at all times. It was a great family show and we all love the $1 movies!!

Afterwards we decided to walk to our errands. Of course the registry wasn't working for our wedding gifts, but we did find cool spiderman light up shoes that my kids LOVE. Do you ever wish your child chooses the fashionable shoes that match things and don't have the action figures on them? It went through my head for a second and I quickly answered no. I love that they laugh in the movie where only a child would laugh, love clothes based on who is on it, not what it looks like, and are able to enjoy the innocence of childhood. They aren't allowed to watch spiderman, so I am glad they get to enjoy him on their shoes.

We ate lunch with my mom and walked back to our car down the cute streets of Walnut Creek. Downtown is so wonderful. I need to leave the car behind more often. It is such great quality family time with no distractions. Instead of going home, we hung out on a hidden walkway with benches and tropical plants and I felt like I was on vacation in Mexico. It was great!! So great we probably stayed for 1.5 hours. Scott did a workbook, Tyler drove cars, I sang to Kira and we relaxed and enjoyed each other. It is days like this that I will forever treasure. I love my three kids and feel so blessed that I get to stay home with them!!
